Though I have concentrated on the figure for over the past two decades, I find my focus being pulled into the abstract realm. Using my signature steel, I am also combining found metal, glass, pellets and cement in my current sculptures. These materials, combined in various juxtapositions, extensively engineered and activated by viewer participation is the alchemy and basis for my latest kinetic works.
I intend, by the deliberate precariousness and uncertain stability of the foundation in the works themselves, to invite the viewer into the void of the unknown where feeling unsettled and even fearful of the outcome is the only reality.
One is faced with the thought of temporary instability or the potentiality of total collapse.
The complexity of these pieces while remaining aesthetically graceful and minimal is a dichotomy that continues to intrigue me as I continue in this direction.
